Punjab Food Minister Hussain Jahanian Gerdezi has said that abundant quantity of atta is available in the province at fixed price of the government. He stated this while presiding over a meeting of the Provincial Price Stabilisation Committee.
Punjab Health Minister Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, Punjab Industries Minister Muhammad Akmal Cheema, and other authorities concerned attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Gardezi said due to measures of the Price Control Committees, the essential items are being sold at affordable rates.
He also said the Punjab government has doubled the number of price magistrates in Lahore to monitor prices of daily-use items and due to the steps taken by the district governments of the province, prices of commodities have been reduced considerably. He averred that in spite of satisfactory situation of atta in all the districts of the province, monitoring of its supply and prices will be continued and no one would be allowed illegal profiteering.
