Dengue fever: death toll rises to nine

With two women died on Tuesday the death toll caused by the dengue fever rose to nine, while with fresh arrival of 32 more patients of the fever in city's hospitals the total number of the patient reached to 1017.
Rizwana, 29, a resident Landhi and Rehana, 70 of Korangi died at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), where they were being treated for the disease for the last couple of days.
Total number of suspected dengue fever patients has also increased to 1017 after 32 more patients were brought to hospital from different areas of the city during the last 24 hours.
Although unofficially the dengue toll raised to nine but the official figures put it at seven. The official estimate put the people effected by the deadly viral disease at 686 during the last two months.
Sources told that suspected patient were being reported in different hospitals of the city.
"On Tuesday six patient with symptoms similar to dengue fever were brought to Liaquat National Hospital, eight to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre, four to Civil Hospital, one to Agha Khan, nine to Ziaudin Hospital, three to Ishfaq Memorial, four to Bismillah Taqee Institute and six to different private hospitals", sources said.
Sources claimed that the provincial government was hiding actual figure of the people infected by the viral fever just to he it incompetence and negligence to control the deadly disease.
