The Lahore High Court disposed of a petition filed against General Manager for misusing quota reserved for promotions of ticket examiners and directed the law officer to assure the implementation of the court orders. The petitioner Muhammad Azam had approached the court against the promotion of ticket collectors against rules.
The court had directed the railways authorities to act in accordance with the law. The concerned authorities ignored the court orders and exposed them for contempt of court proceedings. The petitioner approached the court in contempt petition and prayed for strict action against the respondent officials for ignoring the court orders.
The law officer informed the court that the applications of the petitioner is not with the department and assured to consider the same if submitted by the petitioner. The court therefore directed the law officer to assure the implementation of the court orders and disposed of the petition.
