World Mental Health Day today

World Mental Health Day is being celebrated in Pakistan and other parts of the world on Thursday. The people suffering from mental illness get them engaged in activities that help to improve their mental state and heal their psychological problems, a local private TV channel reported.
The grief expressed by a depressed person usually seen an insane act but one can trace an element of cognition and awareness in it. According to psychiatrists depression is the major cause of rapidly rising number of mental patients in the world.
Psychiatrists said that a large segment of the population suffering from diverse mental diseases and research showed that 10 to 20 percent people suffer from depression, five to eight from anxiety and one percent from schizophrenia. Due to lack of awareness, generally mental illness do not considered as a health problem. Encouragement and proper counselling can be brought back these people back to normal life, experts said.
