Nasreen stresses revision of land fees

11 Oct, 2007

Naib Nazim Karachi Nasreen Jalil has said that under land sale rules 1975, the revision of land fees after every five years is compulsory. The defunct KMC and KDA had, last time, revised the rates in 1998 and 1999 respectively and were to be revised in 2003 and 2004 but this is yet to be done.
"It is essential that after devolution of these defunct organisations into City government, the land rates should be re-determined", she said while addressing a meeting with the officials of defunct KMC and KDA convened to discuss the issue.
It was decided that officials of devolved bodies, headed by Chairman land committee, would review the proposals regarding land fees and submit their recommendations to Naib Nazim so that a final report could be placed before the city council after approval by city Nazim.
Nasreen Jalil said that Haq Parast leadership of city government wants to provide maximum facilities to people with priority to one window facility. She asked the officials to take necessary steps to solve the problems of people in relation to allotment of land, lease and transfer.
