'All resources to be utilised to rehabilitate quake victims'

District Nazim Mansehra, Sardar Mohammad Yousaf has said that every resource would be utilised for the rehabilitation of all the affected families of quake-hit areas before start of winter season.
This was stated by him while addressing a joint meeting of local bodies representatives of union councils Shinkiari, Tanda and senior officials of various departments here on Tuesday. Also speaking at an Iftar-dinner Sardar Mohammad Yousaf said re-election of President General Pervez Musharraf would bring stability and economic prosperity in the country.
The District Nazim said the local bodies system had empowered the people at the grassroots level to decide about their future by themselves, adding that President General Pervez Musharraf by devolving power at the grassroots level made the people master of their own destiny.
Mohammad Yousaf said elected representatives were servants of the masses and they were answerable to them as well, he added. The system, he added, help resolve the people problems. He said a grant of Rs 40 million had been approved for repairing and renovation of Forest College Road and work on the project would soon be started and various projects have been completed.
He urged the representatives of local bodies to supervise themselves ongoing development projects in their respective areas and pinpoint those contractors who were using substandard construction material so that strict action could be taken against them.
