Forty-one Hindu pilgrims were killed Thursday when their bus fell into a ravine in a hilly region of northern India, police said. "We have recovered 41 bodies so far. We are still searching for survivors," superintendent of police P.S Sailal told AFP in Uttarakhand state, where the accident took place.
Two other people were reported to be seriously hurt in the accident, which occurred in the state's Chamoli district. The dead and the injured were returning from a pilgrimage in the mountains when a landslide occurred, causing the driver to lose control.
