Benazir's arrival to strengthen reconciliation: Shaukat

Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Thursday said arrival of Benazir Bhutto would further strengthen atmosphere of national political reconciliation. Talking to newsmen after the groundbreaking ceremony of Aiwan-e-Quaid here at Prime Minister's House, he said her arrival is a welcoming sign and would definitely help promote democracy in the country.
Answering a question, the Prime Minister said every political party has the right to express views and promote political activities and added that in political environment the parties establish contacts with the people.
When asked whether Nawaz Sharif's arrival would also be welcomed like Benazir Bhutto, he said it is a different matter, but his party PML (N) is playing its role in and outside the parliament.
Nawaz's case is sub-judice he said and added that former Prime Minister had gone abroad under an understanding. On caretaker set-up in the country, he said this has been established only in NWFP. However, the important thing is to bring an independent and credible personality so that he could play an effective role in conducting free, fair and transparent forthcoming elections.
