Shamsul Mulk meets Amanullah

Acting Chief Minister of NWFP Shamsul Mulk called on Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon here on Thursday and discussed pace of oil and gas development activities in the province.
During the meeting, the minister briefed the Chief Minister about the ongoing oil and gas exploration activities in Tall Block being carried out by local and foreign companies and provision of gas supply to less developed and remote areas of the province on priority basis.
He went on to say that oil and gas explorations and gas projects have geared up the socio-economic development activities in the NWFP and opening employment opportunities for the youth, unprecedented in the history of the country.
The minister said that gas revenue of NWFP from oil and gas exploration activities have surpassed its hydel revenue adding that "Oil and gas exploration activities would take momentum in the days ahead and would usher in a new era of progress and prosperity in the province."
The Acting Chief Minister appreciated the steps being taken by the Ministry of Petroleum to boost oil and gas exploration activities in NWFP and provision of gas facility to the remote and backward areas on priority basis.
He said that oil and gas projects would bring rapid socio-economic development in the province and help generate employment opportunities. Secretary Petroleum Farrukh Qayyum was also present during the meeting.
