A campaign to dole out loans for Rabi crops 2007-08 through one window operation has started and will remain operative till January 7 next year. Land holders of 25 acres of irrigated and 50 acres of barani land could get production loan upto Rs two lakh for agriculture inputs, said Punjab Minister for Revenue Gul Hameed Khan Rokhari during a meeting here on Friday.
Which was also attended by Relief Director General Chaudhry Muhammad Azam and Operation Director Mian Muhammad Akram. It emerged that the campaign would be conducted every Monday for which every Qanoon Goi Circle had been declared as focal point for one window centre, where all Patwaris, Qanoongos, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar along with record will remain present on each Monday to complete the process the same day.
The postal authorities will arrange sufficient number of Agriculture Pass Books and made available at one-window centres. The mobile teams of Zarai Taraqiati Bank (ZTBL) will issue loans at the spot. The meeting was informed that EDO, DO and Deputy DO Revenue will supervise the operation closely and effectively for its success.
Complaint Cell will also be established in the offices of DCOs and Revenue Officers to remove the grievances and bottlenecks for its function so that disbursement is made without any delay or problem.
Rokhari also ordered a weekly progress report on the loan disbursement to be sent from district co-ordination officials' offices to office of Relief and Crisis Management on each Thursday, which would be submitted with Chief Minister Punjab.
He further directed that the Revenue Staff must extend all co-operation to the farmers and help them for getting production loans. He warned that strict action would be taken against the non-co-operative and inefficient officials of the department.
