Blast on Benazir procession: injured APP reporter operated successfully

Rashid Ali Panhwar, a reporter associated with Electronic News Gathering (ENG) Service of Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) injured while covering Benazir Bhutto's procession underwent a surgery on Friday morning.
Doctors associated with JPMC told APP that a six inches splinter, which crushed into the abdomen of the journalist, was removed and he has been placed under observation.
The surgery has been successful and we expect absolute recovery of Rashid Panwhar, Dr Khem Chand said. The APP newsman was very close to the vehicle carrying Benazir Bhutto during Thursday's procession and got injured while performing his official responsibilities. He also got certain minor injuries, which were immediately taken care of.
