SHCBA condemns bomb blasts in PPP rally

20 Oct, 2007

The Sindh High Court Bar Association in its meeting here on Friday strongly condemned the bomb blasts in PPP rally and said that the bomb blasts by the terrorists in the procession of Benazir Bhutto on the street of Karachi is the direct outcome of the policies of the present administration.
It regretted that during the past eight years genuine democratic activities have been systematically suppressed, while those believing in terrorism and violence have been encouraged to form and organise such groups. "It is very unfortunate that the administration does not possess a complete list of those who went to Afghanistan or arms and terrorism training."
It was further resolved that it is now the time when genuine political activities be encouraged and all political parties should agree on a Code of Conduct and ethics.
It demanded to set up an inquiry commission headed by a Supreme Court Judge to conduct a thorough inquiry of that barbaric incident and its causes. The association also demanded to pay an appropriate amount of compensation to the families of those killed and injured and to provide proper medical treatment to the injured by the administration.
