Business community has a great role in promoting Pakistan's soft image internationally and improving the global market share pertaining to export of goods and services, said Tasneem Aslam, Pakistani ambassador designate to Italy here on Tuesday.
"Some developed countries are considering Pakistan as an unsure market and we have to work hard to wipe out this image and present true picture to these countries," she said while talking to senior executives of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) during her visit to chamber. Acting President of the chamber, Kashif Shabir and business leaders of Rawalpindi welcomed Tanseem Aslam at her arrival.
Tasneem Aslam said that Pakistani products had lot of appreciation in the international market but we have to improve our image internationally by improving quality and making products cost-effective. She said that the business community should improve the quality of their products and to present Pakistani products promoting their image abroad. Italy has infrastructure to produce marble products and Pakistan is importing polished marble products from Italy even being a marble producing country, she said.
"We have huge resources of marble and by importing machinery we would produce best polished marble products and earn huge foreign exchange through export," the ambassador designate told business leaders adding that no compromise should be made on quality once demand of Pakistani products increase in international market. She said that Pakistani embassies abroad were making all out efforts to present good image of country besides introducing Pakistani products in international market effectively.
She appreciated the suggestion of international and one-country exhibitions abroad saying that after she reaches Italy she would work on holding exhibitions of Pakistani products. "I am sure that these efforts would produce positive results," she said.
