Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Durrani on Tuesday said the Pakistan Muslim League and its allied parties have launched their election campaign with two mammoth public meetings held in Shoran and Kashmor.
"A large number of people attended the public meetings in Kashmor (Sindh) and Shoran (Balochistan) that proved to be a great confidence masses have in the policies of the present government," he told the media.
The Minister said people from every nook and corner of both provinces participated in the public meetings that is a result of unprecedented development work done in the last five years.
Durrani said people want continuity in the present policies because they know the country has embarked upon the path of progress and prosperity. Referring to the public meeting held in Kashmor, he said Sindh is a strong hold of PML and people have participated in a great number to welcome their leaders.
He said Kashmor had been made district in the present government and record uplift projects have been initiated to bring it at par with other developed areas of the country.
The minister said Kashmor District Nazim Saleem Jan Mazari has invited Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to contest election from this area because people loved him a lot. About public meeting in Shoran, the Minister said President Pervez Musharraf took personal interest in the development of Balochistan and people showed their love for him by enthusiastically participating in the event.
He said the uplift projects initiated in Balochistan by the present government has no match in the history and there are visible signs of development at the grassroots level in the province. Durrani said mainstream leadership of PML and its allied parties have participated in both public meetings and "we are confident that people will vote us to power in the next general elections."
The minister said the agenda of continuity of policies based on the development of common man is the only way to translate the dream of national prosperity into reality.
