Pakistan and Bulgaria can collaborate in joint research programme where scientists and researchers from both the countries can co-operate in the field of medicine, applied sciences and agriculture.
This was stated by Professor Dr Atta-ur-Rahman, Federal Minister, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Science and Technology while talking to ambassador of Bulgaria, who met him, here on Tuesday. Desmond, the ambassador of Bulgaria hoped that cordial relationships, which are developing among both countries can be extended in higher education sector.
He said that Bulgaria has good medical and agricultural universities which will welcome Pakistani students and researchers. Dr Rahman, reciprocated by inviting Bulgaria to have a linkage programme between Pakistan Academy of Sciences and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, which will be beneficial to scientists and researchers of both countries.
He also informed the ambassador about the Foreign Faculty Hiring Programme, under this programme 450 foreign faculty members are working in Pakistani universities for the last two years.
He said that universities from developed countries like Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, Austria and China are setting up their universities in different cities of Pakistan. He said Pakistan and Bulgaria can develop co-operation in the field of Medical Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Bio Technology, Material Sciences, Neuro Sciences and other fields.
