US defence firms post higher profits, up forecasts

Top-tier defence contractors Northrop Grumman Corp and General Dynamics Corp posted higher third-quarter profit on Wednesday and raised their financial forecasts on the back of strong US military spending.
Boeing Co also reported higher profit overall, but its defence unit - which makes up half of the company's sales - said profit fell as it took a one-time charge, and it warned of relatively slow growth in its military business.
