Ibad urges PPPP to cooperate on security measures

Sindh Governor Ishrat-ul-Ibad has said that provincial government is committed to deliver its responsibility of providing security to Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians Chairperson Benazir Bhutto but the co-operation of the other side is also required.
Talking to a private television channel, he said it was agreed that government and party leadership would make joint security arrangements during the movements of BB in the province but in some cases there was lack of co-ordination between the two sides.
He said the Sindh Home Department had conveyed its concerns to the PPPP leadership and hopefully the co-ordination between the two parties would be strengthened in future.
The Governor said that it was imperative to hold free and fair elections in the country for the promotion of democracy, adding the consensus between the political parties on the code of conduct was a pre-requisite to achieve this objective.
It complied on all the stakeholders to play their role at this particular juncture to pave way for strengthening the democratic institution in the country, he said.
He was of the view that the process for national reconciliation should continue, as it was the only way to promote culture of tolerance and harmony in the society.
