Feedback on pay package, golden handshake: FBR to collect field formations employees data

25 Oct, 2007

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has decided to collect data of 24,000 FBR employees in the field formations to get their feedback on key issues including golden handshake scheme, double pay package and compensation and benefits at the reformed units.
Sources told Business Recorder on Wednesday that 'satisfaction survey' would be started before the launching of Voluntary Severance Scheme (VSS) to ascertain exact number of employees interested in voluntarily leaving the organisation. If majority of the employees are not interested in availing the VSS, the board may revise strategy pertaining to golden handshake scheme.
The board would launch the VSS after obtaining direct feedback of FBR employees, which would reflect the mindset of the tax machinery on these issues. The survey would also clarify matters of salaries demanded by the employees who opted for golden handshake scheme.
The issue of employees survey came to light during two-day 'Change Management Workshop' which concluded on Wednesday. Sources said that the survey would also obtain employees' feedback on Internal Job Posting (IJP) process, understanding of reforms and compensation/benefits extended to them at the reformed units. In this connection, a questionnaire would be distributed among all employees.
The board has finalised a lucrative 'voluntary severance scheme' for employees including senior tax officials and staff. The tax officials who want to voluntarily leave the organisation are expecting an extraordinary attractive package. It is a key feature of the scheme to offer 'sufficient financial incentives' to the tax officers at appropriate time.
