Export of leather products down by 24 percent

The export of leather product, including leather garments, leather gloves, has slumped by 24 percent during the first two months (July-August) of the 2007 fiscal year.
According to official statistics, the country''s export of leather products stood at 85.665 million dollars during the first two months of the 2007 fiscal year as compared to 112.538 million dollars, showing a sharp decline by 26.873m dollars or 24 percent. Over 20 percent or 11.121 million dollars of decline in the export of leather manufactures has been witnessed during August 2007.
