Sirajuddin takes over as Bank Alfalah chief executive

Bank Alfalah, through a press release, have announced that Sirajuddin Aziz has been appointed by the Board of Directors of Bank Alfalah as the new Chief Executive Officer and Director of the bank in place of Mr Mohammad Saleem Akhtar who has retired/resigned with effect from 25th October 2007.
Mohammad Saleem Akhtar today handed over the charge of his office as CEO to Sirajuddin Aziz. Mohammad Saleem Akhtar, Founder Director and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Alfalah Ltd after leading the bank for a decade and developing it from a fledgling three-branch, single-country operation to the fifth largest bank of the country has decided to spend time with his family in London, United Kingdom.
Under his deft and visionary guidance the bank experienced unprecedented growth from a three-branch operation to a 200 plus branch footprint all across Pakistan and growing operations in Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Bahrain. His global experience in various divisions of Habib Bank Limited including assignments in Nigeria, Singapore, New York and London gave Bank Alfalah the drive and momentum to achieve historic growth in its peer group.
Aziz started his career in 1977 with BCCI and brings with him over 30 years of rich and diversified experience in senior management positions in international trade, credits, trade finance, treasury and operations spanning many countries, including Pakistan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Nigeria, Hong Kong and China. Aziz brings with him skills in business management, customer relationship, acquisition and integration, strategy development and effective execution, which are expected to prove very valuable, given the bank's growth strategy in the coming years.-PR
