FBR quarterly moot today

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will organise three quarterly conferences to devise a joint strategy for meeting revenue target for fiscal 2007-2008 on Friday (today). The Chairman, FBR M Abdullah Yusuf will preside over the conferences of field officers belonging to direct and indirect taxes.
The performance of the Commissionrates/Collectorates vis-à-vis revenue collections in the first quarter of current fiscal year will be discussed and reviewed during the conferences and strategy will be evolved to achieve the targets set for the second quarter.
Actions taken on the decisions made in the last quarterly conferences will also be reviewed during these sessions. Conference of Regional Commissioners of Income Tax (RCsIT) Directors General of Large Taxpayers Units (LTUs) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs), Commissioners of Income Tax (CsIT) and Commissioners (Appeals) will be held on October 26; conference of Collectors of Sales Tax and Collectors (Appeals) on November 1 and quarterly conference of Collectors of Customs and Collectors (Appeals) would be held on November 2, 2007.
