The Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) has ruled out any possibility of talking with the government, saying the latter headed by President Pervez Musharraf always betrayed its promises. The MMA and Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan leader Liaquat Baloch told reporters here on Thursday that the MMA would refuse to participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) to be convened by the government.
He added that the government had always hoodwinked the people and never fulfilled the promises. He said the Chief Election Commissioner had become controversial after extending some favours to the government in the presidential elections. He demanded the commission's removal to pave the way for holding the upcoming general elections in the country in free, fair and impartial manner.
The MMA leader accompanied by residents of Bund Road raised strong reservations on the Sports City Project, saying the project aimed at extending favours to a foreign company depriving the area residents from their land in the name of Sports City.
