The City District Nazim, Raja Javed Ikhlas has ordered the postmaster to pay the fourth instalment of the Food Support Programme (FSP) to the deserving people with immediately.
"About 31,000 deserving people get regular payment from the Food Support Programme of out of those, 23,000 are getting payment from the president special package through Pakistan Baitul Mall", he said while talking to reporters here on Friday.
Reports said that government had received complaints regarding delay in the payment of the fourth instalment of the Food Support Programme and City District Nazim taking serious note of the situation asked the concerned authorities to make sure the payment without any further delay.
When contacted, the officials in the General Post Office (GPO) informed that they had received directive from the Pakistan Baitul Mall to pay the instalment in 90 days so they had stopped payment.
It was learnt that more than half of the 31,000 people were paid fourth instalment by Post Office, while remaining were refused this payment. Meanwhile Ikhlas has asked the Baitul Mall to submit a report on the delay and assured the beneficiaries that they would get the payment within one week.
