The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Rawalpindi has recovered 227 kilograms charas, 2 kilograms opium and six kilograms of charas garda in three separate operations and arrested three smugglers.
ANF officials told Business Recorder here that they received information that fine quality narcotics is being smuggled from NWFP to Punjab and intercepted the smugglers on Haro Bridge at G.T Road near Attock.
ANF officials said that a Suzuki Bolan bearing registration No B-4429 Kohat coming from Peshawar was signalled but he did not stop. The ANF staff chased the vehicle on and after search recovered 227 kilograms charas and 2 kilograms opium concealed in the false cavities of the vehicle.
The smugglers Bahadur Khan, driver of Charsadda and Imtiaz Ahmad of Peshawar were arrested. In second operation, the ANF staff stopped a Toyota wagon bearing No LRZ 1711 coming from Peshawar. During search, six kilograms of charas garda was recovered from the possession of a lady named Nargis of Peshawar. She was arrested on the spot.
