As many as 422,000 children of five years age and under will be administered anti-polio drops in the three-day drive beginning October 30. Executive District Officer (Health) Dr Zulfikar Ali talking to APP here on Friday said that those children would be immunised against the disabling disease.
He said 1,182 teams would accomplish the gigantic task by visiting door-to-door to administer the vaccine to the target age children across the district, which consists of three Tehsils - Vehari, Mailsi and Burewala, with 89 union councils spread on as many as 777 villages. The EDO called upon parents and guardians to cooperate with the health teams and ensure vaccination of their children to protect them against the disease.
