Vietnam, the world's largest exporter of robusta coffee beans, estimated on Friday that coffee exports during the January-October period would jump 42.6 percent from a year earlier to 1.02 million tonnes. The Government Statistics Office said in a report that export revenues in the period would rise by 84 percent from a year earlier to $1.55 billion.
The report estimated shipments this month would rise to 50,000 tonnes from 40,000 tonnes exported in September. Traders said this week that late rains at the end of Vietnam's wet season had delayed the start of the Central Highlands coffee belt harvest and also raised fears about quality.
