Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE), the country's leading share market, will have its new managing director after a six month when the newly appointed Managing Director Adnan Afridi will take charge of his office on Thursday (tomorrow).
The post of KSE Managing Director fell vacant for the last six months when former Managing Director M. A. Lodhi tendered his resignation on May 2. The Deputy Director Yaqoob Memon was appointed acting Managing Director during this period.
The KSE advertised the post and over three dozens candidates applied for this job. The recruitment committee of the KSE short-listed few candidates and held interviews.
Finally, The KSE board of directors selected and recommended Adnan Afridi as Managing Director to the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for final approval on August 24. After almost one month, the regulators gave the approval to appoint Afridi as KSE Managing Director.
Adnan Afridi is a foreign qualified and got his education from Howard Law School. He had served for many leading multinational and national companies and presently he was serving at Overseas Chamber of Commerce as Chief Executive Officer.
