Lack of management, corruption cause unemployment

Lack of management and embezzlement of development funds allocated for vocational training has led to an abrupt increased in unemployment across the country, which has shot to 33 percent of the whole population of the country.
Sources told Business Recorder that about 70 per cent of the unemployed sector was youths living in rural areas, who have lesser chances to get vocational and technical training and education without government's facilitation.
Although Pakistan has achieved some positive economic growth indication, but failed to take effective measures to lessen unemployment through skills training program. The unemployed section, which is about one third of the total population, living below poverty line because of their status as being unskilled worker.
They said that proper technical and vocational training programmes imparted to them would help them to break the menace of poverty-circle besides providing them with the opportunity to find a decent work.
Sources said that due to stark and gloomy situation Prime Minister had taken special initiatives for skill development programmes and PM's development program had been set-up to reflect the development of national skill strategy, which would promote skills development.
