The Punjab government has extended the date of submission of dues by allottees of plots in all the government residential schemes in the province by January 31 next year. Plots of those who would fail to deposit their dues by this date would be cancelled.
This was decided at a meeting of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) chaired by the Punjab minister for housing and urban development, Syed Raza Ali Gillani here on Tuesday. The meeting also decided that no further extension would be given in this date in the future and this extension would be considered final extension and to warn the allottees through advertisements and notices in newspapers.
The minister also ordered the directors never to sit in their offices rather visits field to personally monitor the recovery campaign. He also told them to display guiding notes for defaulters in the agency's office. Officers concerned were also directed to submit details of defaulters and dues outstanding against them in the next meeting.
Punjab housing and town planning agency Director General Shahzad Jamil and representatives of the housing, local bodies, finance and revenue departments were also present.
