Pepco has said the current power supply situation in the country has started easing off pressure, though, there will be possible power cuts in coming days, barring load management in the peak hours, from 6pm to 10pm.
A Pepco spokesman said that after hectic efforts, most of the IPPs earlier on scheduled shut downs have been brought back last night. These include the Uch Power (570 MW) and the PAEC Chashnup Power (300MW). The 180 MW Thermal Unit at TPS Muzaffargarh has also started generation after it shut down.
The Indus River System Authority (IRSA) has also increased water releases from Mangla and Tarbela reservoirs, resulting in increasing the power generation from these two sources. The 1, 538 MW KAPCO Power Plant has started receiving gas, which had earlier been curtailed. This help from SNGFL will also help ease the problem.
