The people from different walks of life and the members of an organisation named Professionals staged a protest demonstration outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan in support of former judge of Sindh High court Wajeejuddin's petition against the eligibility of President Musharraf to contest the election, while the apex court was hearing the petition on Wednesday.
Demonstrators stood on the pavement outside the court building. They carried posters, saying 'we want rule of law, not martial law, and other slogans. One large banner carried the message 'Bury doctrine of necessity for ever.'
