CCBs in Sialkot a 'success story': Director UNDP

Director United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Karen M. Junjua while expressing satisfaction over the functioning of Citizen Community Boards (CCBs) in Sialkot districts, has said that Sialkot has set a unique precedent for other districts of Pakistan.
Talking to Business Recorder here on Friday at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) she added that CCBs in Sialkot district were working properly and orderly, adding that we had learned more about this "Success Story" during the visit of Sialkot.
"We will try to implement the same role model in other districts of Pakistan for accelerating the pace of CCB schemes," she said. Director UNDP disclosed that at present about 32,000 different schemes were being carried out under CCBs in various districts of Pakistan. The setting up of "Resource Centre" in Sialkot is under consideration and after discussion with the concerned officers it will be set up, he added.
Earlier, she had detailed discussions with President SCCI Sheikh Abdul Waheed Sandal and other members on different CCB projects. Later, she also visited various projects completed under CCBs in Sialkot.
