Kasuri, Jiabao discuss matters of mutual interest

Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri on Saturday held meeting with the Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao here and discussed matters of mutual interests. In a meeting on the sidelines of the SCO Heads of Government meeting, Kasuri congratulated the Chinese Premier on the successful holding of the 17th Congress of Communist Party of China, says a Foreign Office press release.
In a separate meeting with Foreign Minister of China Yang Jiechi, Kasuri expressed satisfaction over the close, time-tested relations between the two countries with convergence of political interest for the preservation of peace and stability in the region. He said the friendship with China is the cornerstone of Pakistan's foreign policy and is an important factor for peace and stability in the region.
The two foreign ministers expressed the view that the frequency of exchange of visits contributed to strengthen the framework of comprehensive co-operation and partnership between Pakistan and China in the 21st century.
Kasuri reiterated Pakistan's resolve to crush terrorist elements who targeted Chinese nationals and reassured Yang Jiechi about efforts being made for the safety and security of Chinese national working in Pakistan.
The two foreign Ministers expressed satisfaction at the operationalisation of the Joint Investment Company between the two countries. Foreign Minister Kasuri also expressed satisfaction at the visit of Buying Mission to Pakistan which had placed order for 230 million dollar. During his stay in Tashkent, Foreign Minister Kasuri called on the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and congratulated him on the successful holding of the SCO Heads of Government meeting in Tashkent.
