Rawalpindi Traffic Police is likely to implement new traffic plan soon for smooth flow of traffic on the Airport Road. Under the new plan traffic will be diverted from Airport Road to Rawal Road for three hours in the morning on Monday and Friday only.
The reason for implementing new traffic plan was that on these two days almost 40 to 50 national and international flights landed at Islamabad International Airport in just three hours, which causes huge traffic jams on Airport Road. The traffic diversion would be effective from 6.30 am to 9.30 am, and all traffic leading to Islamabad by using Airport Road would be diverted to Rawal Road from Chauhan Chowk, said Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Sabir Ahmed here on Friday.
