People warned of booking flats, shops in housing project

Director Town Planning Department (TPD) Sindh, Tahir Ahmad has asked general public to refrain from booking any flat or shop in Al-Mubashir Residency, Nawabshah as the project was illegal and not approved by TPD.
In a statement issued here he said under the provisions of the Town Planning Act as well as Sindh Building Control Ordinance 1979, 1982 no private housing scheme and commercial building could be launched advertised and its plots booked to the general public without the prior the approval of the town planning department government of Sindh.
He said that an advertisement appeared in section of press on November 2, 2007 where in a luxury apartments and shops under the name Al-Mubashir Residency was advertised at Nawabshah since the subject project has not been approved by Town planning department as such it was in violation of rules and regulations of Sindh Building Control Ordinance 1979, 1982 section (1) 6 sub-section (4) A-21 (section 7 and section 19) and Town planning Act and hence it is liable for prosecution.
He said therefore the general public was warned/advised in their own interest to refrain from booking any flat or shop in the about mentioned project it was illegal t on account of its non approval from TPD, adding if the public book any flat or shop despite the warning of the department then they were booking on their own risk and cost for which TPD would not be responsible at all.
The legal proceedings were being initiated under the relevant provision of Sindh building control ordinance 1979, 82 against the erring sponsor/ builder of the project as per rules, he added.
