NAB arrests former CBR official

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested the former Deputy Collector Customs (CBR), Kokab Salahuddin on charges of amassing money by illegal means and misuse of powers. A press release issued by NAB Sindh on Sunday said Salahuddin was charged for making assets worth of Rs8.5 million by his ill-gotten money.
NAB also arrested former Budget Officer of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Farooq Hashmi on similar charges. Hashmi, arrested from Latifabad was facing charges of making assets worth of Rs20.25 million through embezzlement.
The present value of these assets was reported to be of Rs 70 million. Both arrested persons would be presented before accountability court on Monday.
