Rs 31.82 million sports complex at UVAS inaugurated

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore is constructing a sports complex for students at a cost of Rs 31.82 million. The two-storey complex spreading over 23,436 square feet will provide sports facilities for table tennis, a gym and other sports.
Punjab Minister for Livestock Syed Haroon Ahmad Sultan inaugurated the construction work, a Punjab Livestock and Dairy Development Department spokesman said here on Tuesday. The minister said that this would provide students an opportunity to take part in extra-curricular activities. "Sports help create a healthy nation and society," he added.
This complex will be completed in phases and Rs 13.12 million have been allocated for the first phase. This amount will be spent to construct a building over 22,900 square feet.
