Punjab government has endorsed the decision of district government Rawalpindi banning permission to Pakistan Peoples Party (Parliamentarian) to hold public meeting in the city on November 9.
A spokesman of the Provincial Government said here on Wednesday that the general state of security arisen from the recent bomb blasts, large public meetings are generally inadvisable and the political parties should refrain from holding public meetings and rallies.
The spokesman said that the reasons cited by the district government for disallowing public meeting are absolutely correct and are endorsed by the provincial government. Section-144 has been imposed due to security and to protect the life and property of the citizens, says a handout. Any violation of Section-144 by any party would be dealt with full force of law, the spokesman added.
