Moderate earthquake hits Islamabad

An earthquake of moderate intensity was recorded on Tuesday morning here by the Seismological Network of Pakistan. According to preliminary analysis of meteorological station, the earthquake originated at 0716 hours and its epicentre was 490 kilometres north of Peshawar in Tajikistan.
The magnitude of the earthquake on the international Richter scale was 5.1 and it was also felt in Islamabad.
