Punjab government under a network programme will construct housing colonies at Sialkot, Narowal and Gujranwala at a cost of Rs 75 crore. Official sources told Business Recorder here on Tuesday that basic facilities like electricity, sewerage, water supply and 40 feet wide roads will be provided in these proposed housing colonies.
The Sialkot housing colony will spread over 200 acres of land and consists of 2,500 plots of five to one kanal while Narowal colony would have 400 plots of 5, 7, 10 marla and one kanal and 800 plots of different categories would be developed in Gujranwala housing scheme.
The government has taken the step for reducing the residential problems being confronting by the dwellers of Sialkot, Narowal and Gujranwala district of Gujranwala division. The step taken by the government would be helpful in trim down the excessive burden and congestion in these districts of the division. The development work on the project would be undertaken shortly, sources added.
