The Jammu and Kashmir Awami Action Committee paid glowing tributes to its founding chairman, late Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq, and martyrs of Hawal, Srinagar, on their 18th death anniversary observed, according to Islamic calendar, on Wednesday, Shawal 25.
Special prayers were offered after every Nimaz, for the late Mir Waiz and martyrs of Hawal and all the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir, Kashmir Media Service reported.
Meanwhile, a delegation of ction committee, led by Ghulam Muhammad Bhat, visited Neilyakipora, Pattan, where a young woman, Nusrat Bano alias Shahnaz, was killed by the security forces. The delegation extended Hurriyat Conference chairman Mir Waiz Muhammad Umar Farooq's condolences to Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Mir, father of the martyr woman.
Expressing serious concern over the killing of innocent civilians by the Indian troops under the cover of encounters with mujahideen, Jammu Kashmir Khawateen-e-Kashmir (KeK) in a statement termed it the worst demonstration of state terrorism.
The spokesperson of KeK paid glowing tributes to the young woman of Pattan area, who was martyred by the troops. A delegation of the KeK also visited the village and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
