Provincial Minister for Education Mian Imran Masood has said that quality education is not possible without imparting modern training to the teachers and the government will promote teachers training programme with the collaboration of private sector.
He said this while addressing a function of certificate distribution among the participants of various courses of teachers training held under the aegis of American School of Montessori at Children Library Complex, here on Saturday.
Project Director Robina Tariq Jillani, School Principal Mrs Sarwat Shujaat and a large number of women teachers were also present on the occasion.
Mian Imran Masood said that teachers training was neglected in the past but for the first time in the history of Pakistan due importance is being given to the teachers training. He lauded the efforts of private sector for imparting training to the teachers and declared the success of this sector as a good omen for the young generation. He said the government had decided to provide training to 400,000 teachers with the co-operation of Aga Khan University and other institutions.
Project Director Children Complex Mrs Rubina Tariq Jillani informed that more than 54 courses including teachers training have been organised in this institution.
Principal American School of Montessori Mrs Sarwat Shujaat informed that her organisation is launching diploma courses of one year besides various courses including teachers training in which women participate in a large number while special attention is being paid to child psychology, art, music and preparation of curricular. Later, Provincial Minister Mian Imran Masood distributed diplomas and certificates among the teachers completing their training.
