US and Canadian ambassadors call on Sherpao

United States Ambassador Anne Patterson and Canadian High Commissioner David B. Collins separately called on Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao here on Saturday. Officials said the diplomats discussed matters of mutual interest with the minister. Talking to US Ambassador, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao said that Pakistan and US were allied in the global war against terrorism.
"Pakistan condemns all kinds of terrorism and our efforts against the menace will continue till the end of terrorism in the world", the minister said. He said Pakistan gives the highest importance to its relations with the United States and both sides are co-operating in various fields.
Sherpao said that under the dynamic leadership of President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Pakistan is fast marching ahead on the path of development and prosperity. The minister said domestic and international investments in the country have increased due to satisfactory law and order situation.
Later, talking to the Canadian High Commissioner, the minister said Pakistan attaches high priority to its ties with Canada. Both envoys appreciated the role of Pakistan in the global war against terror and hoped that international co-operation with the country would be further strengthened.
