3.4 percent rise in investment under CFS

Investment under Continuous Funding System (CFS) increased by 3.4 percent to Rs 52.0 billion on the last day of the outgoing week as compared to Rs 50.3 billion on the last trading day a week earlier.
The CFS rate inched up to 11.06 percent on the end of the week against 10.86 percent last week. PPL, OGDC, NBP, POL and AHSL contributed 48 percent (Rs 24.7 billion) to the total investment.
Open interest in the November counter settled slightly lower at Rs 10.43 billion on Thursday against Rs 10.99 billion on last Friday. Futures spread settled higher at 4.56 percent compared to -1.21 percent on last Friday, indicating fresh buying positions.
Average trading volumes, however, dipped by 5 percent and settled at 53 million shares compared to 56 million shares last week. OGDC, NBP, POL, MCB and PPL remained top fives by value and contributed 61 percent to the total open interest.
