The shortage of DAP fertiliser in the country could badly harm upcoming wheat crop, said Mian Ali Sher President of Farmers Association Pakpattan, while talking to newsmen here on Sunday. He said that the per bag rate of DAP fertiliser has crossed the limit of Rs 1415 while it was available at Rs 1350 some days back.
He said that it could cause a serious cut in wheat crop. He said that due to sudden hike in the price, same fertiliser was not available in many districts of the Punjab as a result growers were facing serious hardships.
He demanded of the government to ensure availability of the fertiliser in all areas of the district and take immediate steps to bring down its prices.
