Government to hold talks with media: Durrani

The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Muhammad Ali Durrani, has said the government wants to hold dialogue with media to resolve issues regarding the code of conduct. Speaking to PTV, he said the government has opened many channels.
The government has no intention to suppress the press, as it is not afraid, he said further adding that the electronic media and newspapers are publishing stories independently.
Durrani on behalf of the government invited the media for a dialogue and rejected any kind of confrontation with them. "We will sit together as there is no communication problem," he said.
He said yet it was a learning process for the electronic media after it's considerably new establishment in our country and everybody should maintain the limits." However, Durrani said the democratic process would continue according to the constitutional spirit and hoped that issues that have taken the country would be resolved in a weeks.
