MMA has announced a three-day protest programme against the imposition of emergency in the country from November 14.
The announcement to this effect was made by MMA Deputy General Secretary Liaquat Baloch at a joint press conference along with Pir Ejaz Hashmi, Dr Farid Piranha, Waqas Jaffari, Asghar Gujar, Farooq Chohan and Farhan Shaukat here at Mansura on Sunday.
Under the three-day programme, MMA will hold protest demonstrations, public meetings and hoist black flags throughout the country from November 14-16.
Liaquat Baloch offered MMA cooperation with the PPP for the restoration of democracy in the country, however, he said that PPP would have to show seriousness in this regard.
He also demanded All Parties Conference to evolve future strategy saying that contacts with political parties in the APDM have been completed. He said it was unanimously decided that APC would be held at the platform of APDM.
Giving detail about the protest demonstration, Liaquat Baloch said protest day will be observed on November 14 and will hoist black flags on the houses and electric pillars on the roads. He said black ribbon will also be tied on arms.
He said the MMA would express its solidarity with Judiciary and media on November 15. He said rich tributes would be paid to those judges who did not take oath under PCO and those journalists who impartially reported the events before and after emergency.
