APDM holds demonstration against emergency

All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) FATA chapter, staged a protest demonstration against the imposition of emergency in country here at Landikotal. Hundreds of APDM component parties, JI, ANP, JUI, and PTI, workers participated in the demonstration.
Activists were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans against imposition of emergency, sacking of judges, curbs on media and arrest of lawyers and political workers. They also resorted to severe sloganeering against General Musharraf.
Zarnoor Afridi, Deputy Secretary General JI FATA, strongly condemning imposition of emergency by General Musharraf, has accused him (Musharraf) of pushing the country toward turmoil through his flawed policies. He alleged that President Musharraf has pitched the security forces and the people against each other.
He demanded the government to lift emergency immediately, reinstate the judges and released JI and others opposition workers.
Mufti Ijaz, President of JUI Khyber Agency said that the government has started civil war in the country. Iqbal Afridi, Vice President Tehreek-e-Insaaf FATA, said that tribesmen must unite against the regime as it had put the country integrity at risk.
