Journalists set up token hunger strike camp at LPC

Journalists of print and electronic media here on Sunday set up a token hunger strike camp at Lahore Press Club against the restrictions on electronic media in the country. Several journalists participated in the token hunger strike camp. They raised slogan against the government for imposing restrictions on media and declaring state of emergency in the country.
Speaking on the occasion, President, PUJ, Arif Hameed Bhatti demanded of the government to withdraw the notice of Pemra and release arrested journalists.
He also demanded the lifting of ban on private channels. He said, the token hunger strike camp will continue till November 12. A heavy contingent of police was deployed around the Lahore Press Club to check any untoward incident.
