The Establishment Division has extended the tenure of Secretary General Revenue Division, M. Abdullah Yusuf, as Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman for a period of three years. A notification to this effect was issued by Establishment Division here on Monday.
Sources told Business Recorder that Yusuf''s tenure has been extended from November 1, 2007 onwards for another three yeas in view of his remarkable performance. The successful implementation of the World Bank (WB) funded Tax Administration Reform Program (TARP) and other reforms'' incentives have been visible during his tenure.
The business community has given him credit of broadening the tax-base through a compliant tax culture. Meanwhile, the FBR has appointed a seasoned income tax official of Grade-21, Khawar Khurshid Butt as Member Facilitation and Taxpayer Education.
